Why do Econox probes only work from 600 °C?
This limitation is both physical and chemical, as the zirconium oxide (ZrO2) measuring cell only becomes reactive at 600 °C and above. This applies to all probes on the market that use a zirconium oxide cell.

Why does Econox use two different zirconium oxide (ZrO2) systems in its oxygen probes?
Historically, Econox has always used a zirconium oxide ball for %C measurement in heat treatment atmospheres. Many years later, another system was introduced. It appears that in some particular cases, the use of either ZrO2 cell may give a slightly ...
What are the standard lengths of Econox probes?
Heat treatment probes have metal outer tubes. The lengths are therefore fixed between 350mm and 1300mm, for obvious stock and manufacturing reasons. For oxygen probes, although the lengths are normally fixed, we can change them by cutting the ceramic ...
User manual ZI, ZS and ST-E for heat treatment
This is the user manual for ZI PRO The CarboProbe ZI pro, based on a ZrO2 ball for the measuring element, allows a very precise value of carbon concentration (and oxygen concentration) in an industrial furnace to be obtained. Its simple design makes ...
User manual for CP, DS, HT and HT PRO for the measure of Oxygen
This is the user manual for CP, DS, HT and HT PRO for the measure of Oxygen . Theses probes measure the Oxygen content up to 1700°C. They cannot be used in carburizing mixtures (atmosphere with carbon)
